Monster of a Favor
We were in charge of favors for KMC's class party this Halloween so I was excited to find THIS pin.

Supplies:
Bubbles
Package of eyes
paint pens
hot glue
There are 18 kids in her class so we bought 3 packages of bubbles (6 in each package). I took the wrappers off the bubbles and hot glued various eyes to the bubbles. Then my husband used the paint pens to draw in crazy mouths. My daughter put all of them in a box to take to school the next day.
We had a lot of family fun creating these little dudes and KMC said everyone liked them!
Candy Corn Relaxation
For KMC's teacher gifts this Halloween, I loved THIS idea of Candy Corn Bath Salts because I think it must be exhausting to teach, discipline and run after 18 four year old's 5 days a week!

Supplies Needed:
Epsom Salt
Course Sea Salt (1 per jar)
Food Coloring
Essential Oil of your choice
Funnel
3 bowls
Mason jar(s)
twine
Directions:
Get 3 bowls and put 1/2 cup of Epsom salt, 1/2 cup of Course Sea Salt and 1 drop of essential oils in each bowl and stir.
Then put 2 drops of yellow food coloring in one bowl and stir.
Put 2 drops of orange food coloring in another bowl and stir. If you can't find orange food coloring, you can put one drop of yellow and one drop of red.
Next you will funnel the yellow bowl into the mason jar, then the orange and lastly the white.
Top it off with a cute label on top of the lid and embellish with your choice of twine for that special added touch!
She's a Doll!
Halloween was fast approaching and I did what every good mother does…I bought my 4 year old daughter an Elsa costume to wear trick-or-treating. In fact, I bought it months ago. But right before the Halloween party and trick-or-treating at her school, I thought to myself….hmmm, that train is too long, it will get stepped on and then the costume will get ruined, and that won't do. So I decided to make her a costume to wear to school. I found this awesome example of a PAPER DOLL and got to work.
Supplies used:
2 pieces of poster board
1 piece of foam core
scissors
exacto knife
pencil
water colors
permanent marker
old bag
hot glue
duct tape
head band
felt
ribbon
First, I found a cute outfit in my daughter's closet that she could wear under the costume and used it as a template on the foam core. I traced it in pencil and then my husband cut out the shape with the exact-o knife.
My daughter had an old trick-or-treat bag that was looking pretty rough so I decided to use it as a template for the paper purse. I traced it in pencil on part of the poster board and cut it out with the scissors.
I looked at the picture of the bow from the link above and freehanded 2 bows on the poster board that I then cut out as well.
After I had the main items cut out, I used pink and purple water colors to paint the objects. Then I outlined them in permanent marker.
My husband cut 10 rectangles out of the poster board with scissors and outlined them with a dash stroke using the permanent marker. I then used the duct tape to adhere them to the back of the dress, purse and bow.
Since the halloween bag was old and sad looking, I went ahead and hot glued the paper purse to the old trick-or-treat bag so she could really put candy in it.
Once the dress was ready I cut some ribbon and taped it to each side of the top of the dress so I could tie it on to her to wear.
I hot glued a piece of felt to the head band and left enough of it standing up to glue the bow to it so that it sat on her head perfectly.
To top it off, I used a lipstick pen to make a little heart shape on her lips and used blush to give her rosy, paper doll cheeks!
Everyone LOVED the costume and KMC was thrilled with it too! She was so excited because she was the only paper doll at school! P.S. Forgive the chuck's, I had her adorable silver sparkle dress shoes out for her to wear and she refused saying they were too small. :-)

Hiatus is OVER!
I kind of disappeared for a while but now I'm back and with a super cute teacher gift for the first day of school. I totally snagged this idea from my friend, Ashley Pierce…thanks girl! It is a Pre-K Teacher Survival Kit. KMC has two morning teachers and two afternoon teachers. Here she is with her AMAZING morning teachers!

one in a MINION
We love Despicable Me at the Cooper household. We think the minions are hilarious so when I saw THIS pin, I knew we had to make them for KMC's class party favors. She even helped me make them! It's cool getting to do crafty stuff with my girl and seeing her get as excited about it as I do!

I am a terrible cutter so when the original post said to cut out 3 small circles per minion, I thought no way. So I just made the layered goggle eye on the computer. I had to make 16 for KMC's class so that was PLENTY of cutting in my book. I know all of you super crafty moms probably have a circle punch this size (1inch) but I don't. So that's why they are a little rough.
Then I made the heart with the saying in Adobe Illustrator and printed them out. HERE is the free printable with the eyes and hearts made for you! All you have to do is print as many as you need and get to cutting!
Then I got one piece of black construction paper and cut it into strips.
Once I had everything cut out, KMC and I used our handy glue dots to secure everything in place on the twinkles.
The last step was to draw little smiles on them with a sharpie!
Her class was pretty excited to see that they had their very own minion and that it was edible too! :-)

Bee Mine!
This year KMC has 6 teachers instead of the usual 4 so when it comes to teacher gifts, I have to think cute but cost effective. When I saw THIS pin, I thought I could handle it! I love that they offer a free printable (see the link) so I don't have to re-invent the wheel. I simply saved the printable, added some personalization (the to and from) and printed it out.

Then I used my trusty glue dots (3 each lip balm to be exact) to add the Burt's Bees lip balm to the cards. All done. I think they are super cute and the teachers can use them during this crazy cold weather!
