Shooting for Brownie Points

Every time a holiday rolls around, I love to find something special to do for KMC's teachers.  She has 4 of them.  We love them SO much and we are super thankful for the love and care they bestow on our little one every day.  It is VERY hard to be a working mommy and leave your sweet girl with someone else for 8 hours a day.  That is why these ladies mean so much to me!

Daycare workers do so much!  They clean up other people's snotty noses all day, change dirty diapers, dry tears when someone gets a boo-boo, read stories, dance crazy dances, pat backs at nap time, foster children's creativity during art.  They become a human jungle gym, a drill sergeant in the hallways, a police officer on the playground, and a cheerleader every time a child does something worthy of praise.  They are great at cuddling and giving hugs.  They know how to set good boundaries too!

In short, they are my child's "other mothers" helping her learn about the world around her and the One who created it all.  They shape my daughter's view of the world just as my beliefs and actions do.

So to show some love on Valentine's Day, I decided to make them some special cupcakes!  Of course it's from Pinterest.  The pin led back to THIS website for the recipe.  Basically it's a brownie on bottom, strawberry cake on top and then topped off with cream cheese icing.  My picture of the cupcake isn't nearly as fabulous as hers but it was 2:30 a.m. when I finally finished and I was too tired to get out my flash, etc.  Hopefully this will be good enough.  Click on image to enlarge.

I made the tags in Illustrator and got the idea from THIS website via Pinterest.

(without my daughter's name on them of course)

Then I found these super cute preserve jars at Hobby Lobby to put the cupcakes in.  Glassware was 50% off that day!  Woohoo!

I think they are cute and they didn't kill my pocketbook!  The teachers liked them and that's all that really matters, right?  :0)  I hope they know they were baked with love and created out of complete appreciation!  Happy Valentine's Day Y'all!

XOXO

Of course I got our Valentine card idea from Pinterest!  It links back to this awesome momma's blog: www.designmom.com  Designer+Mother....sound familiar?

Well I did not anticipate that my TWO YEAR OLD would not really understand what I needed her to do.  We had several mini-shoots trying to get the shot.  I found that the early morning was the key.  Well that and bribing her!  hahaha!  While her hand isn't quite right, it works and she looks precious!

I have a SECRET...

The first thing that is NOT a secret is that I LOVE Pinterest.  I got this idea from a fellow pinner that led me to this website. http://www.sixsistersstuff.com  They call it 14 days of Valentine's.  I call it 14 days of awesomeness!!!  I took these up to my husband's office and the ladies there are helping me by hiding them around the office every day of the work week.  I will take care of the weekend ones.  We are all having so much fun!  Pictures speak a thousand words so enjoy!
