one in a MINION

We love Despicable Me at the Cooper household.  We think the minions are hilarious so when I saw THIS pin, I knew we had to make them for KMC's class party favors.  She even helped me make them!  It's cool getting to do crafty stuff with my girl and seeing her get as excited about it as I do!

I am a terrible cutter so when the original post said to cut out 3 small circles per minion, I thought no way.  So I just made the layered goggle eye on the computer.  I had to make 16 for KMC's class so that was PLENTY of cutting in my book.  I know all of you super crafty moms probably have a circle punch this size (1inch) but I don't.  So that's why they are a little rough.

Then I made the heart with the saying in Adobe Illustrator and printed them out.  HERE is the free printable with the eyes and hearts made for you!  All you have to do is print as many as you need and get to cutting!

Then I got one piece of black construction paper and cut it into strips.

Once I had everything cut out, KMC and I used our handy glue dots to secure everything in place on the twinkles.

The last step was to draw little smiles on them with a sharpie!

Her class was pretty excited to see that they had their very own minion and that it was edible too!  :-)

Bee Mine!

This year KMC has 6 teachers instead of the usual 4 so when it comes to teacher gifts, I have to think cute but cost effective.  When I saw THIS pin, I thought I could handle it!  I love that they offer a free printable (see the link) so I don't have to re-invent the wheel.  I simply saved the printable, added some personalization (the to and from) and printed it out.

Then I used my trusty glue dots (3 each lip balm to be exact) to add the Burt's Bees lip balm to the cards.  All done.  I think they are super cute and the teachers can use them during this crazy cold weather!

a-MAZE-ing

This year I wanted to find a valentine KMC could hand out to her classmates that wasn't candy since I was bringing party favors too.  More about those later.  When I saw THIS pin, I knew it's what I wanted to do.

So I went to oriental trading dot com and found these cute LITTLE heart mazes.  I received 72 of these bad boys for $7.00 plus tax so you may want to find someone in a different class to go in on this with you.

Then I just went into Adobe InDesign and made this little 4x6 card, printed it on glossy card stock and KMC helped me glue them on with glue dots.

Ta-da!  All done!  Here is the free printable without KMC's name on it.  Click HERE to get 3 up on a page.
